After the War: Finsbury Stories
We were awarded funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund to make a film to commemorate 60 years since the staging of ‘The Finsbury Story’.

‘The Finsbury Story’ was a gala production staged at Sadlers Wells Theatre to celebrate the history of the borough of Finsbury before the borough was merged with Islington in 1965.
’Our Finsbury Story’, made by local film producer Derek Smith, was made in 2020 and has diverted a little from the original intention of the project due to the impact of the pandemic.
The film shares the history of Finsbury through memories of residents who are the last generation of “Finsbury people”.
